QUINTREX OFFSHORE RELAY - STARTING 18TH MAY 2008
The official dates and trip plan for Quintrex's "Offshore Relay" from Brisbane to the Melbourne Boat Show have been set with the journey to begin on Sunday 18th May, 2008 and finish on Sunday 29th June, 2008.
Quintrex's flagship model, the 670 Offshore Sterndrive Diesel (SDD) will make the 1,200 nautical mile test of endurance down the East Coast of Australia, stopping at 17 major ports.
State Sales & Marketing Manager for New South Wales, Victoria & Tasmania, Des Hughes said the start of the "Offshore Relay" in Brisbane will witness the first of many events to take place.
"To celebrate the opening leg of the "Offshore Relay" on Sunday 18th May, a Quintrex Owners Lunch will be held in conjunction with Springwood Marine under the Story Bridge from midday," Des said.
"Quintrex owners will then follow the 670 Offshore SDD flotilla style down the Brisbane River as it travels to its first stop, Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, Gold Coast where the vessel will be displayed on the Hinterland Marine and Broadwater Marine stand.
In conjunction with Quintrex dealers, fundraising barbeques for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia will be held on the boats arrival at most stops followed by on-water days to give people a chance to check out the "Offshore Relay" 670 Offshore SDD along with other popular Quintrex models.
"The boat is expected to arrive at Docklands Marina, Melbourne on Sunday 29th June, where it will be displayed on the JV Marine stand at the Melbourne Boat Show," he said.
Over the six week journey, the boat will be driven by a minimum crew of three and passed on in relay style as it heads down the coastline. The legs and schedule of events are as follows:

The Quintrex "Offshore Relay" will showcase the toughness and seaworthiness of the Quintrex 670 Offshore along with the performance and economy of the Cummins MerCruiser sterndrive diesel.
